Thats one way to put it, but it came with the mower, which fwiw, has a 13 
hp decal on the hood, so it is a replacement motor sometime in the last 
20 years. I only have a couple bills in it, Fred and I both knew it was 
about shot.  It ran 3 years so it doesn't owe me much.  If I was really 
broke, there's a craftsman with a 12.5 in it that ran ok, but the tranny 
is stuck in 2nd gear. If I had 2 weeks to screw with it, I'd put the 
rear end out of the JD in the craftsman. Might yet.
