It turns out that only for 4 files, do I need to restart lcnc. I can work on the subroutines live because a new load is done each time I click the button, so that is about half working. But I have a new gladevcp problem. The camera window is blank, and nothing in that area has been changed in 3 or 4 months. And I am now logging in the launching terminal: gladevcp: auxiliary dir: /usr/share/linuxcnc/aux_gladevcp/NativeCAM gladevcp: importing: /usr/share/linuxcnc/aux_gladevcp/NativeCAM/ncam.py gladevcp: importing: /usr/share/linuxcnc/aux_gladevcp/NativeCAM/pref_edit.py /usr/bin/gladevcp:190: GtkWarning: IA__gtk_widget_set_name: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed builder = gtk.glade.XML(xmlname) /usr/bin/gladevcp:190: GtkWarning: IA__gtk_widget_get_accessible: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed builder = gtk.glade.XML(xmlname) /usr/bin/gladevcp:190: Warning: /build/buildd-glib2.0_2.33.12+really2.32.4-5-i386-eISom6/glib2.0-2.33.12+really2.32.4/./gobject/gsignal.c:2361: signal `destroy' is invalid for instance `0x9329360' builder = gtk.glade.XML(xmlname) (gladevcp:25705): libglade-WARNING **: unknown widget class 'camview' And it has come back spelled CamView several times. So obviously something has gone aglay. I get the feeling that somewhere, an update has wiped that widget out. qv4l2 displays the camera output just fine. But of course that doesn't give me the target overlays so its not terribly useful other than to see if the camera is working. Suggestions gleefully checked.
