It was of course grounded. Moving something on the shelf it was all sitting on, the back of the box came in contact with the P3 connector sticking out of the big box. The ribbon cable had been cut off with a pair of scissors, leaving nearly 1/16" of ribbon sticking out. That grounded most of the higher numbered wires in the ribbon, blew the ptc clear off the 5i25 leaving a burnt crater in the pcb, and apparently did something to the pci bus, so my last 5i25 I was going to put in the toy mills machine got hauled back to the garage, and another used Dell got bought. Needless to say that plastic connector was cut off and a fresh one installed, cut off at the connector face and given a coat of Go-2 for insulation. I don't think it will short again.
