I'm going to attempt to CNC it using 3D printed mounts for NEMA 17 stepper motors. The plan is to make them with channels I can fill with urethane resin and perhaps some pieces of metal if they don't prove sturdy enough. I'll also be embedding Rivnuts to provide solid threads where needed. I could carve pieces from aluminum with a milling machine, but where's the fun in that?
