Yup. My better idea didn't save a mult2 but by re-arrainging the order
of things now gives me straight from the mux8, a value that when
multiplied by the joints scale, gives me a count that represents a
movement of .0001" movement per click as the base move. This same value
could be displayed in the gui to tell the operator how far, in machine
units, it will move for one click, but I've not yet cobbled that uop
in .xml.

This 2.something is then multiplied by the encoders .count and will be
fed to the joints jog input. So I believe I have the x axis behaving as
I want. Doing z then is a copy/paste and a bunch of renameing here and
there.

If, when I actually get the dials mounted and wired up, I don't have to
invert or correct a few somethings, it will be a first! But as I said,
the first day will be running a vacuum cleaner, its a mess right now,
and I need to finish an x-out home switch, so tiny I couldn't find it if
it gets knocked off the resting place, and waiting on a 2-56 bottoming
tap. z-home is yet another swarf generator project. And I should do a
whole batch of z limits. There are portable things on the right to keep
from shoving off the end of the bed.

Yeah, but the way I've done this, it should be as accurate as the scale
factor for that joint so if its wrong I'll set the dial up and see if an
inch is still an inch. :)

Famous last words of course, Murphy is back and drinking my beer
again. :)
