I'm doing mine that way too and so far a 10" and a dead blow hammer thats about a pound has been sufficient. But I was just reading up on a link you supplied that it should be freshly oiled with 10W mineral oil everytime its re-installed, and I have not been doing that, so its getting harder to snap it loose. Side tracked by the concern for the hot countershaft bearings I guess. Bad dog, no biscuit.
