What I would do is take a known-good SSD and use that to create a disk
image file on the HD of the PC that the adaptor is connected to.
You can then copy that image to the new SSD when required.

The tool to do this (both ways) is probably dd. If you look at the
instructions for creating a USB stick for a normal LinuxCNC install
the process will be pretty much the same, except that the initial
phase will be reversed, to copy a drive to a file.
