I'm having the similar problem. Some weeks ago i was succesfull with first
version of machinekit. Then I tried to get a chalkboard lcd to run. After some
first success i corrupted somehow everything. So wen't back to restart from
beginning, but I'm constantly stucked on the rcn-ee.net error.

I'm not super in linux, but i did df/ls .. All seems fine.
And doing ifconfig ibsee ip adress via dhcp..

I remember first time my problem was in missing bone-dtb parametrr.
Is it possible that in last setup this has changed?
Could not find that parameter in the file.

P.S: I try by serial or usb connection. No way.. Have additional powersupply
for usb and bbb.

Any ideas?

Thx Mike
