You are at the right place. If the stepper motor controllers have 'step and direction' inputs, you should be OK. There are devices, like GECKO's, that you could refer to with your specific model and manufacturer of the motors that could tell you if they could control them in case your current system doesn't have the driver hardware for the steppers, and LinuxCNC does GREAT driving steppers attached through Gecko's and many othe rbrands of stepper drivers.
