I am converting my Anilam M to EMC2 with Pico Systems, PPMC.
I am having a hell of a time doing the PID tuning with the linear scales 10um.
See https://sites.google.com/site/bmklawt/home for information about my
conversion

I have some heidenhain ROD 426, 5000 line count, encoders
http://www.heidenhain.de/de_EN/php/products-and-applications/angle-measurement/rotary-encoders/with-integral-bearing/product-search/?tx_assistmepdb_pi1[sourcePage]=112&tx_assistmepdb_pi1[linktopdb]=18268&tx_assistmepdb_pi1[show_article]=988175120
It will take some work to get them mounted, I was thinking instead of using US
Digital E5 Optical Kit Encoder, 1250 CPR
http://www.usdigital.com/products/encoders/incremental/rotary/kit/e5
which will be fairly easy to mount.

Just looking for advice on why I should or shouldn't use one over the other.

Your advice is greatly
 appreciated,
Bruce

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
