Hello steve... If you have precise enought home switch then make sense to align home at the reference pin for holding PCB. You can have home switch on any location for XY. For Z normaly the home is as far as possible from table. (Z+). My friend (machinist) say's that my home position is stupid... I have Home at Z+ X+ Y-. But in that way I have access to complete table to mount workpiece. Stil the home coordinates (X0 Y0) is at bot left corner. Just set the home switches in best position to have clean access to worktable and put home offset to bot left corner or fixture pin for PCB. In EMC the machine coordinate is realy rarely used as near all make toucoff on the reference point of job.
