John, I am impressed with your last name. :) Homing is trivial to set up. It will allow you to set soft limits. Soft limits will give you peace of mind. Homing and soft limits do not interfere with setting zero anywhere you need it on the table. Once you get used to homing the machine you will think running the machine without soft limits is archaic and dangerous. IMHO Stuart
