Porter cable 1.5hp router as spindle I am using a hobbycnc driver with 205 oz/in steppers direct driving 1/2 -10 single start ACME threads with DumpsterCNC backlash nuts. Driver halfstepping at 28V (board rated to 42v). It can easily cut at 40ipm (~1000mmpm) with a .25" endmill .25" deep in MDF. My machine flexes too much at higher cutting rates. For rapids, I can get well over 100ipm when its tuned up.
