I'm actually trying to read an analogue signal (High Voltage - say 1000VAC)
being applied to my heavy motor. Do I need an ADC converter or what is the
procedure?

I am confused about how your voltmeter works. Do you have an ADC (analog
to digital converter) with an parallel port interface?

I did this:

to get analog signals into EMC2. Are you doing something similar?
