The quick answers are: No, No, and Yes.

I believe HostMot4 works only on the 5i20 board.

HostMot2 currently works on the 5i20, the 4i65, and the 7i43; support is
planned for the 5i22, 5i23, and 4i68.

There are currently no plans to drop support for HostMot4, but I expect
most future development will happen in HostMot2 rather than HostMot4.

HostMot4 is older than HostMot2, and it's certainly more mature.

HostMot4 supports some things that HostMot2 does not yet support,
specifically encoder index masking. Support for this feature in
HostMot2 is planned, but not implemented yet.

There have certainly been some issues with HostMot2 this past summer,
but so far I think they've all been worked out to everyone's
satisfaction. Aside from a few outright bugs in the hostmot2 driver,
most of the problems have been peripheral things like HAL
misconfigurations and (particularly with the 7i43) power supply and
cabling problems. The 7i43 has a couple of failure modes not shared by
the 5iXX and 4iXX series AnyIO boards, since it's got a separate power
supply from the host PC and the EPP communications can be quite finicky.

Are there any users who still have unresolved issues with hostmot2?

Conversely, are there any users who are now successfully using hostmot2?
