Latest update. After a reinstall, setting the graphics manually to the correct type and screen resolution and doing the updates, everything's working fine. Found the PCI parallel port address using lspci -v and it works. Just need to do some latency tests now, but it works my router table :) Next is how to get my lathe spindle index working.
