I have made operator mistakes, and rammed a drill into a piece at 60 IPM because I forgot to reset the Z offset after changing from the center drill to the regular drill bit. I made the same mistake and plunged a 1/8" end mill into a panel and then rapided to the place where it wss SUPPOSED to enter the material. All operator goofs!
I have never had a malfunction of EMC, ever, in 8 years of use. (I did have some crashes of the GUI and window manager back in 1998, but EVEN THEN, it didn't mess up the part, the Real Time section kept machining just fine, but I couldn't control it except with the E-stop button, which I did not need to use.) I even had a power failure where it got totally black, and I was feeling behind me for a flashlight when the lights came back on. The machine kept cutting right through it! I was astonished! > P.S. There is a web site announcing it at http://www.cnc-workshop.com/ you will be able to pay your attendance fee sometime in the spring.
