Hi all

I am trying to understand how outdoor gas appliances, specifically a barbecue,
are regulated in the USA, and particularly whether there are any mandatory
requirements for them to be ‘approved’ or ‘listed’ by an NRTL or similar body.

The barbecue is on castors, a propane cylinder that sits on the ground near it
is the fuel source. There is also a rotating spit that is powered from an
internal 12V battery, which is removed for recharging.

It looks like the relevant standard is CSA/ANSI Z21.58-22/CSA 1.6-2022 -
Outdoor Cooking Gas Appliances.

Any guidance appreciated!

Best Regards
Chris
