Hi All - For those interested, our chapter will have a short online presentation on this topic - details and meeting link below. Since online presentations can be viewed worldwide (though sometimes at inconvenient times) we thought we would extend an invitation through the EMC-PSTC list.
Best regards, John McBain, PSES SCV Chapter Secretary *Changes to the FCC Rules for RF Exposure! by Vina Kerai* *April 13 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm (PDT)* *Presentation: **Understanding the new FCC RF Exposure Rules* The FCC has published its latest revisions to the radio frequency exposure evaluation rules and guidance in the Code of Federal Regulations Title 47 and KDB 447498. They are in effect from April 1, 2022. The new rules mark a significant update and change to the criteria and methodology for assessing unintentional and intentionally radiating devices. As a result of the new rules, certain devices that previously were exempt from specific absorption rate (SAR) evaluation are now subject to SAR evaluation, while other devices which were wholly exempt from RF Exposure exhibit requirements are now within the scope of the FCC’s RF exposure requirements. Several other changes are also made to the rules. This presentation will start to prepare you for the transition to the new RF Exposure requirements. It will provide a basic understanding of the implications of the new rules for your devices and their impact on your work, as well as providing practical examples. *Presenter: Vina Kerai* Vina Kerai is responsible for implementing and managing Nemko’s Telecommunications Certification Body programs. She has over 18 years of experience with R&D/engineering, compliance testing and certification to management. Vina works with wireless technologies and guides engineering technical leads across multiple IoT Verticals for key regulatory markets including the US, Canada, Europe, UK, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. *Join Zoom Meeting* IEEE PSES SCV Chapter is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. *Topic**:* Understanding the new FCC RF Exposure Rules *Time**:* Apr 13, 2022 05:00 PM Pacific Time (US and Canada) Join Zoom Meeting *https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89955817123?pwd=MFFVRXVMaC9NWnVwZU1vK214a1JMQT09 <https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89955817123?pwd=MFFVRXVMaC9NWnVwZU1vK214a1JMQT09>* Meeting ID: 899 5581 7123 Passcode: 471336 One tap mobile +19292056099,,89955817123#,,,,*471336# US (New York) +13017158592,,89955817123#,,,,*471336# US (Washington DC) Dial by your location +1 929 205 6099 US (New York) +1 301 715 8592 US (Washington DC) +1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago) +1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose) +1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma) +1 346 248 7799 US (Houston) Meeting ID: 899 5581 7123 Passcode: 471336 Find your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kKqjOwPxw - ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message is from the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society emc-pstc discussion list.
