OK, some other thoughts. You should use Halscope to get a trace of following error when doing the rigid tapping move, and see if there are any spikes in the error right around the reversal.

One other thing, historically, the trajectory planner ran at 1/10th the rate of the servo thread. This is set in the .ini file. You should make sure the traj. planner is running at the full servo thread rate.
