And If I loaded it, I'd expect it to work, but I've been running master
on all 4 machines for years now, and have added toys that may, or may
not, use features from master. Unlike some of you who milk the cash cow
and depend on it Just Working, I am not making measurable money with
this, so I don't mind bleeding a bit now and then, it is how I learn and
we push ahead to improve it. Having been exposed to Mach 3's starter
kit when I bought the 6040 some time back, it didn't take me long to
find Mach was incapable of controlling the spindle, and that the
supplied psu and drivers weren't capable of moving the machine, the psu,
labeled as 24 volts, was folding back to about 11 volts, so I bought
another vfd I could control, and went to the shop and got the box of
drivers that had been moving the little HF which had self-destructed one
of its screws and pitched the control box that came with the 6040 into
my trash wagon after salvaging the motor drivers and its 1/3rd the
needed amps psu. And built two new driver boxes with a 5i25 and 7i76D
for both it and the GO704. The 6040 surprised me by moving its xy at 200
ipm with a good psu and a 4 pack of 2M542 drivers. Anyway, even if it
was free, that Mach disk will never be prevented from falling in the
trash barrel. Best place I know of to "store" it. :)

Cheers, Gene Heskett
