The freeze is the consequence of a cache corruption, but it doesn't give information about what caused that corruption (almost certainly without any visible consequence at that time). This minor mode solves this by sending a message in the minibuffer whenever an action corrupts the cache. However, it slows down editing a lot, so it is only reasonable to use it on short documents. If you run it and notice a cache corruption, please report it. Regards,
