This thread prompted me last weekend to try git-annex via its "assistant". It was pretty painless to set up hosts where I could run a local web browser. I was also able to easily set up a remote annex on a headless git/SSH server via the web app. I followed this: http://git-annex.branchable.com/assistant/quickstart/ -Brett.
