Thank you for the report and the ECM. I just updated Org-mode and tried it with the ECM, and on the first trial Emacs hanged again after the second replacement (SPACE). Sending ,---- | pkill --signal usr2 emacs `---- did not give me a backtrace this time, and when I tried again query-replace worked with the ECM.
