"\\subsection*\{%s\}") > )) Unrelated: I think you can safely delete the \makeatletter...\makeatother stuff: it was a workaround for some beamer/geometry incompatibility in TeXlive 2011 or so. If you have a newer TeX distro (and you should update your TeX distro at least once every two years - it's a matter of personal hygiene, you know;)), it's unnecessary.
