Hi, i have the same problem. It appears that `org-map-entries' fails if the file does not yet exist. A solution could be to add to `dmj/org-remove-redundant-tags' a `file-exists-p' condition but you will have to save twice to clean the file; another is to patch `org-map-entries' that should succeed even if the file does not exist...
