I have added your org sample to my test.org file. org-parse.el & Co seems DTRT even without a fix. During the verification process, I discovered that having a Table in a Footnote section is "forbidden" by atleast OpenOffice i.e., While creating the footnote definition, "Insert" of "Tables" is greyed out in the UI. I am not sure what the OpenDocument spec says about having Tables in Footnotes. Anyways that is where things stand wrt tables in footnotes. This is for the sake of public record. Jambunathan K. --
