The short answer is to use *Emacs* for your email, e.g. with gnus or wanderlust or mh-e or vm or rmail or ... after all, why would you want to leave emacs and interrupt your flow! I use gnus to read email from imap and pop servers as well as gmail (imap). I send via them as well. Sending with org-mode syntax is basically down to "It's all text" (R) ;-) Just type it in!
