Maybe this can help in your case:
For custom "Tags search" agenda entries I directly inline all relevant
tag queries like so:
TODO="INBOX"-maybe|TODO="WAIT"-maybe+SCHEDULED<="<today>"|TODO="TICK"-maybe+SCHEDULED<="<today>"
