I cloned the repo at git://yog-sothoth.mohorovi.cc/org-mode.git but did not find `misc-new-features' branch and could not find the changes in the org-mode proper as well. The changes sound very interesting and I recently found a need for it. Hope you have not decided to abandon the feature.
