As there were no objections, I applied to main. Samuel, it's been awhile, and not sure you are receiving this (my previous emails seemed to bounce), but polars support is still welcome if you're interested and can complete the copyright paperwork (or can implement it in a TINYCHANGE patch <15 lines). Otherwise, I'll put polars support as a TODO/feature request for the future.
