TL; DR — How is the color of individual words and phrases specified in such a way that the Emacs buffer shows the color as well as the final exported documents in HTML and PDF?
I’ve been surfing most of today and what follows is what seems to be true. I am mostly trying to just verify things. I want to write documentation using Org mode. I have used Org mode a little before. My main objective is that the documentation in final form be available on the web as HTML as well as offline preferable as PDF and EPUB. It seems that EPUB is a little difficult but doable but that’s not my question today. Another objective is that others, aside from me, be able to edit and contribute to the documentation so I want the documentation “self contained” as opposed to having customized variables set up in my emacs config. I would like to be able to have individual words and phrases colored such as red and green. It would be nice that the proper color be shown in the Emacs buffer as well as in the exported final result. I just assumed that Org mode would have some special sequence for doing this but it seems it does not. I’ve run across various emails with suggested changes but I guess they never got incorporated into the main line. And it also seems like it is possible to do this but there are specific special ways to do it for LaTeX output, another for HTML output, etc. I’m a little surprised at all this which is why I thought I would ask here. Thank you
