Hello,
at the time of writing the orgmode git repository on savannah is down. Again.
I could pull the sources from the GitHub mirror at https://github.com/bzg/org-mode but it's ~2
months old (in this case that was not an issue). I am not aware of other updates mirrors.
The situation of the FSF infra is for me frankly worrying, I follow https://hostux.social/@fsfstatus
and there are frequent outages. Am I the only one worrying about this?
Now, I don't mean to discuss FSF outages but I have a small suggestion: link in a visible place the
GitHub mirror of Bastien either on the homepage or in the first "Installation" section of the
manual:
https://orgmode.org/org.html#Installation
so people know immediately about the alternative mirror and can work around these issues. Not having
access to the updated sources when it's needed is in IMO a pretty bad user experience.
In addition, I noticed that there are:
- https://github.com/orgmode
- https://github.com/org-mode
which could end up being confusing if one day they get populated with sources not "vetted" by the
project.
