Yes, they do not. I recently clarified this in the docstring: https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs/org-mode.git/commit/?id=87c71e62901b84e77b79e68b89027a5b1ce6057c It is not a bug, but rather a missing feature. Unfortunately, it is non-trivial to support sorting by timestamp date.
