That is strange, I am able to reproduce as well, at least after activating (flyspell-mode). Both on current main: Org mode version 9.8-pre (release_9.7.26-6-gac9bd5 @ /home/rens/Projects/org/org-mode/lisp/) and Org mode version 9.7.11 (release_9.7.11 @ /usr/share/emacs/30.1/lisp/org/)
