Ha, this is in fact the main problem with LaTeX: it is not really a "document preparation system", it is a "scientific paper preparation system". Any other kind of document, and LaTeX needs help. This could be addressed in two ways: 1. Writing a "better" (i.e., more generic, not aimed towards articles and books) LaTeX exporter. 2. Writing a ConTeXt exporter (see http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Main_Page).
