Yes, the font-lock poblem is related to all those spaces, somehow the XEmacs regexp engine gets stuck for very long headlines. After I remove the spaces, them, everything seems to work normal for me. Promotion/demotion does not seem to add spaces for me.

The tags do no format as such as long as there is any non-white text in the headline after the tags, in this case "pell & Monster Cards Swapping". After I remove this as well, everything looks as it should, at least to me.

Can you describe more detailed what the problem with promotion/demotion is? A Step by step guide if possible:

What exactly do you do?
Which file do you load, do you work on a fiolded or expanded tree, etc etc.

What do you expect?

What happens instead?

Thanks

Its seems to have gotten a bit worse for me, at least running on Xemacs. Font locking has started giving me problems, and there are issues with using alt-> promotion and demotion. When i add tags manually they do not (should not?) re-format to the 80 char limit. If i use alt-> alt<- to promote
and demote it, they get formatted properly.

(1) (warning/warning) Error caught in `font-lock-pre-idle-hook': (error Stack overflow in regexp
matcher)

I kinda fell off the org mode wagon and started to re-create my main org file again. I upgraded to 4.55, but no luck. Attached is the offending file. If you try and promote ToGC then you'll see
what i mean.

Tim.

the font locking has to do with all of the spaces that appeared on the line with 'Spell & Monster Cards Swapping' on it. These spaces were somehow added by the promotion-demotion problem i
mentioned above.

Tim.
