Do you think this explains your problems on other platforms?  BTW -  
I'd recommend using Clozure CL on Mac instead of SBCL (I'm not sure if  
SBCL threading on Mac OS is reliable yet, it wasn't when I switched 9  
months or so ago).  There are tradeoffs between the two, but I've  
found working with ccl to be a better experience overall.

I'm happy to make the updates if you provide doc patches (for the 1.0  
release) and I'll post the FAQ once we've resolved the current problems.
