i thought people might be doing all sorts of funny stuff in their
initialize-instances -- additional initialization unrelated to instance
slots, validation, writing to logs etc.
and they can be surprised that once they make class elephant- persistent and
it's loaded from DB, their stuff is not executed anymore.


Isn't is the other way around? Wouldn't they be surprised when they get a log entry for user creation, or send a confirmation e-mail, not just for when a user was added, but for every time a cursor touched that object by pulling it out of the database? _______________________________________________
