About a year ago, I put a 3-el SteppIR with 6M element on a tower. Before that I worked a lot of 6M DX with my K3 by loading my 40M dipole. I made at least a half dozen QSOs from my QTH near San Francisco to the east coast, and worked several KH6. The SteppIR, of course, works better. :) 6M truly is a band that allows you to have a lot of fun with a modest antenna when it's open.
