Nobody of us the users has said that the K3 has a bad TX audio,this radio can sound as well as any other radio in the world,in fact it can sound even better if you know how to set properly the TX EQ,the mic and comp gain; as you after been using for more than a year my K3, I keep receiving all the time excellent reports of my TX audio even I use all the time ESSB and I know lots of users don't like that mode. I am using the Yamaha CM-500 as mic and if you are interested I can send you some clips to let you hear how I sound with it.Good luck with yours,73 AD4C
