Ok, thanks Don. I have some 1/16" tips for my soldering station so Ill use one of those for when I get to the cans. They're also 700F but hopefully the larger size will do the job quickly. Probably should have used the big tip for the ones on the control board. Oh well, I'll find out this eve. I guess if I cooked those crystals when I get to the smoke test of the 4mhz oscillator. I remember counting to 3 on those attempts and lifting the iron after that even when the attempt wasn't successful. Fingers crossed, hi.
Also, my tips are magnetized because it's the WTCPT station that uses the magnets for the temp control. That would immediately suck up the wires, hi hi. I think I'll solder the wires to the board first, that was the only way I could get them done on the control board. Ah thanks for the tip on the toroids... cut/pasted/saved... 73, LS W5QD -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K2-first-power-up-tp4500744p4500960.html Sent from the [K2] mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
