Nice job on your video John! I just wanted to add a comment regarding spectrum displays. I've used many of these over the years including K6STI's DSP Blaster, Spectran, Winrad, PowerSDR and CW Skimmer. I use these mainly to help identify weak DX or QRP signals to keep my brain from imagining ESP signals that aren't really there! I find the waterfall mode (signal strength vs frequency vs time) to be more useful than the pure spectrum analyzer mode (signal strength vs frequency in real time). A waterfall is good for indicating weak and QSB signals that might otherwise get buried in the visual clutter of a pure spectrum analyzer. I've found CW Skimmer's waterfall works best for me and has a nice interface to the K3. Clicking the yellow encoder dots (see display below) on the right side of the waterfall sends the K3 to the exact frequency once you get it set up correctly. http://dxatlas.com/CwSkimmer/ You can also use the computer keyboard Up and Down arrows to jump from one decoder dot to the next and never need to touch a mouse (handy in contests for fast S&P). Skimmer's "Blind Mode" does not display decoded calls (otherwise using it puts you into an assisted category for many contests). 73, Bill -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-and-Computer-Video-tp4463261p4468323.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
