At what bandwidth, Ted? If you get that "peaking" effect with an I.F. (roofing) filter with a fairly wide bandwidth (say >1 kHz), then what you are hearing is some sort of peaking occurring in the audio system after the filters, probably in your speaker or phones, to make it "louder". I'm not sure what you mean by "fuller", but that could be a function of your preferred tone pitch. You might try different pitch settings in the MENU and see if a different frequency sounds better to you.
If it's only happening using a very narrow I.F. (roofing) filter, check to see if you have the filter offset set correctly in the MENU. If you have 8-pole filters, it should be zero. If 5-poles it should be marked on the filter. The values should be recorded on a label attached under the top cover of your K3 (or on the subreceiver enclosure for subrx filters). Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- Hello all, When working with CWT if find the signal is fuller and louder when its not centered under the mark. What can I do to center the signal and get the loudness under the mark?
