I came up with an interesting use for RXEQ in DATA A mode -- as a narrow AGC replacement. An external digimode program could monitor the RX signal level and use RXEQ to decrease the level of buckets containing strong signals. The PC sound card is likely the weak link, and using the K3 AGC to protect it has the side effect of decreasing TX strong on all audio level across the passban. With smaller bandwidth for this "digimode AGC", it should be easier to copy weak signals in panoramic mode. Of course, smaller buckets than half-octaves would be better for this purpose.
