Colin,
The most common cause of the 'Loss Of Sidetone' problem is that you
inadvertently changed the sidetone source in the menu. If you tapped
the DISPLAY button while adjusting the sidetone level, that would do the
deed.
Bring up the ST L menu entry
Press EDIT to edit the parameter
Tap DISPLAY to toggle the sidetone source between U6-25 and U8-4 - you
may have to tap DISPLAY a few times to get it right
When you hear sidetone stop tapping DISPLAY and tap MENU twice to exit
the menu.
For your future operating convenience, do not change the sidetone level
to match the signal when spotting - instead change the AF Gain to bring
the desired signal to approximately the level you have the sidetone set
to. The sidetone level is not changed with the AF gain setting, so
operating like that is possible.

seems to be gone! I checked with a dummy load and a signal is going
out. All of the settings are set to the QRP version (e.g.: Mode = CW,
ATU = Auto, StL = 030, StP = 0.60, etc.) and still nothin', ziltch,
nada. No sidetone on key down and no Spot sound.
