I'm glad to report that I have found the source of the "static crashing" noise on 10 and 12 meters on my K3. It was also the source of a higher than normal noise floor. This was all caused by noisy trimmer caps in the 10/12 meter bpf section. Mainly c180 but c184 is noisy also. Elecraft is sending new parts so I won't have to send the radio back. Another person has had a problem on 20 caused by a different trimmer. Just an FYI. Love the rig. Can't wait for the 2nd rx.
