I had a problem with the KRX3 as well. With the KRX3 installed, my K3 audio
was completely silent, and the K3 would no longer transmit. I emailed K3
support, and they told me to check everything, especially the cables and
also re-run the VCO cal. This didn't help. So, I disconnected everything
easy and the problem was still there. Finally, I opened up the front panel
and removed the aux-DSP board (I did this last as it was the most difficult
thing to do). Once that aux-DSP board was out, my K3 was back to normal. I
reconnected the KRX3 completely and everything still worked fine (of course
the KRX3 wouldn't work without the aux-DSP in place). I emailed K3 support
with my results and they sent me a replacement aux-DSP board. I installed
this, and now everything seems to be working OK.
