An update to my information quoted below ... Recent firmware updates add Autoinf to the CONFIG menu. Setting Autoinf to AUTO 1 will force autoinfomation ON and allow the SteppIR controller (set for Kenwood) to follow the K3 without the necessity for logging soft- ware to poll the radio.
Note: If you use the "Y" cable documented in the SteppIR group files area (on Yahoo) at: <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SteppIR/files/> it may be necessary for the computer to be running in order to avoid pulling the data lines low. 73, ...
