Prior to receipt of my first K3 and post receipt of the Lisa-gram, I printed out the manual in B/W using plain paper stock that was pre-punched for a 3-ring notebook. I did the same with the owners manual.
I used the pre-punched, "plain paper" copy in the 3-ring binder to (a) confirm inventory and make notes in the margins, such as whether or not the counts matched, what to "be careful of," etc. and (b) make other comments as I went along and especially to flag start/stop points since I did assembly over 3 days, mostly a couple hours at a time after I got home from work. The other nice thing about this is that (a) I didn't care if I scribbled in it, (b) I had the "back side" of each page blank so I had even more room to scribble, (c) I could add in pages (one at a time) if necessary [but I haven't done that yet]. During assembly, if I had the desire see something "better" than my plain-jane b/w, low quality printed manual, I took a look at the one I downloaded with the color pictures. The "fancy" one supplied from Elecraft is B/W. That one basically sits in my "ham manuals" drawer, unused. Worked well for me! de Doug KR2Q _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr.
